St Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub Review

Hi guys! Today I will be reviewing the Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub from St Ives. I brought this scrub because I decided that I needed a scrub in my life but I didn't want anything too harsh even though I do like the idea of scrubs with granules or beads in. I haven't used an exfoliating scrub before so I was quite excited to give this a go :)

The reason I wanted to use a scrub was that I sometimes find that my face has some dry skin cells that is highlighted when I am wearing make-up.

This product is promoted as:

  • Containing 1% salicyclic acid (making it good for acne prone skin)
  • Being soothing  (thanks to the green tea)
  • Clearing up skin

My Review:

I have been using this scrub for a month now. The tube says you can use it daily however I prefer to use this 2-3 times a week. The reason why I don't actually use it daily is (apart from already having a cleanser that I love) is that when I have used it every second day I find it a) unnecessary and, b) slightly drying when used too much. But when using it appropriately (and I'm sure this will differ as everybody's skin is different) this really is a very impressive scrub! Since using it I haven't had any break-outs (well I had one minor under-the-skin pimple but that even seemed to go disappear quicker than usual) and my face feels very squeaky clean after using it so I would definitely say it clears up skin and soothes skin.

The scrub itself is a wonderful green colour and is nice and dense. There is a decent amount of exfoliating granules in it and it doesn't feel too rough. When used every three or so days your skin doesn't feel too dry after using it which is fantastic because I was worried it might dry my skin out too much. The scent is pleasant but pretty subtle.

Also, I am super pleased that this scrub is not tested on animals and is free from parabens and phthalates as this is something I personally find very important!

Overall I REALLY like this scrub and will definitely consider repurchasing it once my current tube is empty. For $10 it is not only very affordable but also a high quality product. So keep your eye out for this and definitely give it a go :)

Score: 8/10

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day :)
