Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge - Christmas Tree

The theme for today's challenge is 'Christmas Tree' and I decided to do a manicure inspired by my own Christmas tree. Every year we decorate our tree with silver tinsel (correction, LOTS of tinsel) and silver and blue baubles. Therefore this manicure is silver based.
If only polishes looked as good on nails as they did in bottles!
This is the first time I have worn or swatches this polish and whilst I'm not thrilled with the density of the glitter in the clear base I think I am always going to be one of those glitter-haters. If anybody knows of any good glitters that are DENSE please let me know :) Cheers.

Anyway 'Party Popper' is by Models Prefer and contains silver/holo??? bar glitters and small glitter particles in a clear base. I layered it over Sally Hansen's 'Pedal to the Metal' and I think the result is quite nice - it's a delicate manicure that it isn't too showy but you still get a nice surprise when you step into the sunshine. Next time I will probably use more coats of 'Pedal to the Metal' though.

Cheers,

What do you think of this manicure?

Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge:Elf

Today as part of the Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge I have an elf inspired manicure to show you.

I googled "elf" for inspiration but didn't really get any amazing inspiration. Wasn't sure how to translate green leggings into a manicure, hahaha, so since they all seem to wear Christmas hats I decided to nail-art a santa hat onto my middle finger. I decided for an accent nail rather than 10 santa hats across all of my fingers because I don't think it would look that great. Less is more, what do you think?

I used Essence's walk on the wild side and Revlon's All Fired Up for this manicure as well as a white nail art pen. You can't really see it in these photos but I think 'walk on the wild side' is an awesome green Christmas polish, shimmer shimmer shimmer!

Thanks for reading and please feel free to leave a comment, or vote in the poll below :)

Aussie Christmas Nail Challenge - Manicures 1 & 2

I just discovered that Lissa from Lissa's Polish Addiction is running an Aussie Christmas challenge. Obviously, being Australian I immediately joined this challenge. However, because I only saw it late last night I am already two manicures behind :( So I am going to combine the first two manicures ( red + 6 white boomers).

If you want to know more about this challenge please click here and check out Lissa's blog (click here) because it is seriously awesome!

For the red manicure (mani #1) I decided to use my favourite red polish 'Pillar Box Red' by Butter London and 'red glitter' from Ulta3.

Sadly the red glitter is extremly subtle and instead of making a statement it basically turned this lovely creme into a shimmer polish.

For the second manicure I actually had to google 6 white boomers (I hang my head in shame) to find out that it was actually a reference to kangaroos (http://www.southcom.com.au/~bell/oz_xmas/a_boomers.htm)!!!!!

For this manicure I used a super old Australis polish "Dune" that was acquired years and years ago, maybe ten years????? And from Essence's Twiligth Breaking Dawn Part 2 Trend edition, a gold polish called " A Piece Of Forever". This is the first time I am using this polish and I am impressed with it  (it's a one coater, yay!!!).

I couldn't fit six kangaroos on my nail, sorry, but I did manage to stamp one :) Lol.

Thanks for reading,
Cheers
