In one of the many youtube videos I watched this week somebody mentioned (I can't remember who, maybe Fleur de Force?) that they were loving nude nails with glitter. This inspired me to dig out a flakie I hardly ever reach for, Revlon's 'Heavenly'. I love nude nails and thought this could be a cool combination...

Inglot Flakie #205 Review
Hi guys, today I have a super exciting post for you :) This polish has been sitting in my drawer untried for ages but boy do I regret that now...it's truly amazing!!! The polish I am talking about is is Inglot's #205 flakie top coat. Sure, it might not have an awesome name but it is an awesome polish. The flashes of colour are stunning and the formula is perfect. This polish definitely scores 10/10.
I layered #205 over Sally Hansen's 'Jungle Gem'.
So I'll stop raving about how awesome the polish on and get onto the details.
I layered #205 over Sally Hansen's 'Jungle Gem'.
- This is a flakie topcoat, the predominant colours are green and gold however you do get flashes of blue and orange.
- Density is really great, I used one coat for the pictures used in these pictures. However, I did do a couple of extra brushstrokes per coat on a couple of nails.
- Formula is extremely easy to use and it dries quickly.
- Unlike glitter topcoats this removes easily and doesn't damage your nails.
I think the reason why this stayed in my drawer untried for so long was that I have had bad experiences with flakie top coats before, they either apply gloopily or their density is so appalling that you need a couple of hundreds coat to get any noticeable effect. But that wasn't the case with #205. The flakies were packed in so with a couple of strokes you got a high level of density, they all dried smoothly and the flashes of colour you get from this topcoat is spectacular.
Before signing off I must apologise for the lack of clean-up. I ran out of nail polish remover!
Thanks for reading,
cheers :)

Revlon Heavenly & Blue Slate combo
Hi guys,
just a quick swatch to show you tonight because it is getting late and I only recently brought this polish so I haven't had time to review it fully. Heavenly was buzzing around in the blogosphere awhile ago and I have been eagerly awaiting it's arrival in Australia so the other weekend I had to grab it when I saw it at Priceline...
For this swatch I layered it over 'Blue Slate' which is a magnificent denim blue creme by Revlon that I love wearing. I found Heavenly a bit chunky and thick which made application a little messy.......as you can probably see from these photographs. It is very iridescent though which is always a good thing! I think next time I will go with the 'less is more' idea and see if I get a better result.
Thanks for reading and enjoy :)

The Battle Nail Challenge - Holographic vs. Matte
Okay so continuing on with The Battle Nail Challenge today I have for you the battle between holographic polishes and matte nail polishes. I think both holo and matte polishes can look fantastic however I find that both don't tend to last long on my nails :( Holographic polishes are definitely my favourite although I think this love comes more from swatches rather than actually wearing it on my nails - weird I know!
I decided to do a "matte" manicure for this post but if you want to see a holographic post click here to see fishwife by butter london or siw by make up store.
For this manicure I used the following polishes:
I decided to do a "matte" manicure for this post but if you want to see a holographic post click here to see fishwife by butter london or siw by make up store.
For this manicure I used the following polishes:
- 1 coat of 'Jungle Gem' an indigo teal by Sally Hansen
- 2-3 coats of Speck-tacular a flakie top coat by Australis
- 1 coat of 'Matte Top Coat' by Chi Chi
I love how flakie top coats look when covered with a matte top coat and same goes for glitters. They still sparkle and have that "light-shift" property but it looks more mysterious.
I promise I didn't forget about this challenge but somehow ended up starting other challenges and sadly haven't done this for a long time! Bad me!!!! Hopefully I will be able to get back on track now.
Thanks for reading and take care,
Cheers
